Tahawi Institute is an educational organisation, dedicated to preserving the practice of the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions.

We began teaching the part-time evening Alim course in 2019, to serve the Muslim community of Tower Hamlets. With part-time evening options limited locally, the madrasah opened to meet a growing interest among those seeking further studies in the religion. On the advice of senior scholars, we founded Tahawi Institute in 2022 to expand on our existing provision and offer a quality Islamic education to those seeking to tread the sacred path.

The teachers at Tahawi Institute are grounded in the sacred Islamic sciences through traditional institutes, having received ijāzah from honourable senior scholars in the UK and abroad. Our teachers come from a variety of professional backgrounds, with every teacher holding strength in their respective subjects.

Our Mission

Our mission is to produce a new generation of ʿulamāʾ who are rigorous in their knowledge, skills, and thought. We aim to empower young people in Tower Hamlets and beyond to be confident in their knowledge and practice of Islam, grounded in the Islamic sciences and able to draw on them in every walk of life.
